Originally built in 1872, the Pier once welcomed steamships to the area, which would transport fresh produce to other regions. Waterways were more efficient than roads in that era, and most of the visitors to Ventura arrived via the Pier.
Support the future of this historic piece of California by adopting a bench. Donate $2,000 and you will receive a personalized bronze plaque on a bench at the Pier for 10 years. You can also donate lesser amounts and have your name engraved at the Pier entrance.
Is there live music and entertainment on the Ventura Pier?
You’ll find live music most nights at Eric Ericsson’s restaurant. Special events throughout the year also bring music to the pier, such as the Pier Under the Stars food and wine festival each fall.
Does the Pier have any restaurants on it?
Yes. Eric Ericsson’s Fish Company features fresh seafood off a market-style menu, plus a full bar, wine list and happy hour specials. Another option is Beach House Tacos, with an outdoor patio and beach-inspired menu.
